The MAX3318ECPW is a high-speed, low-power, true 1-unit load RS-485/RS-422 transceiver, featuring a unique true fail-safe circuitry and ± 25kV ESD protection. This device complies with TIA/EIA-485A and TIA/EIA-422 standards and can handle up to data rates of 10Mbps. It is suitable for various applications such as industrial control, building automation and network data communication.
The MAX3318ECPW is designed to operate with up to 256 nodes on the same network. It features a low power consumption of 4mA, low propagation delay at 25ns (max) and an integrated charge-pump with a low operating voltage of 5V. In addition, it offers a wide range of operating temperature from -40°C to +85°C. Further, it is highly reliable with a unique current-limiting protection feature that ensures robust data communication.
The MAX3318ECPW includes two driver channels and two receiver channels, consisting of two high-speed and low-power drivers, two high-speed and low-power receivers, and it is capable of differentiating RS-485 and RS-422 data in bus configurations.
