Working Principle

The MAX38800HCS+ consists of a pair of switches. One switch connects the power supply to the output and the other switch connects the output to ground. The switching of the switches is controlled by an internal controller. This controller adjusts the switches at a preprogrammed switching frequency, to regulate the output voltage. When the output voltage exceeds the preset output voltage level, the internal controller will turn on the lower switch while turning off the upper switch to decrease the output voltage and vice versa.

The device is designed to provide fast and precise regulation of the output voltage, depending on the input voltage and load variations. The switching frequency and peak current limit can be programmed to suit the application needs. The device also has an enable pin which allows you to turn the regulator on or off, as needed.
