The MAX3941ETG is an integrated telecom IC designed for a wide range of interface applications, including backplane, copper, and optical networking. The integrated line-side transmitter contains both a low-speed digital portion and a high-speed analog portion. The low-speed digital portion includes pre-programmed transmit data, pre-emphasis, common-mode, and digital filtering. The high-speed analog portion contains a DAC and a VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator) which is used to generate the necessary analog signals. The data transmitted over the line is amplified through the built-in receiver, which can be programmed to accept a wide range of differential and common-mode signals.
