MAX3980UTH+T is a high-efficiency, fully-automated and protected Li-ion battery pack charger designed for portable or vehicle applications. It is designed for standard single-cell or multi-cell battery packs, and can provide single output from 1.0A – 6.0A. The device offers short-circuit protection as well as detection of cell imbalance. It utilizes a constant-viflow algorithm for long autonomy and low noise applications.Features

The MAX3980UTH+T utilizes a constant-viflow algorithm designed for both high-performance and long-term operation. The charger works by continuously measuring the voltage and current of the battery pack and adjusts the charging current based on these measurements. This ensures that the battery charge is optimized and also prevents over-charging and cell-imbalance.The device also provides protection against short circuit, over-current protection, and cell-imbalance protection. The protection circuits are designed to prevent over-heat, over-load and over-charge in the battery pack. The thermal protection circuit is designed to shut off the charger in case of over-heat and the discharge-current limit is designed to prevent over-discharging.Conclusion
