MAX5023SASA+T Application Field and Working Principle

The MAX5023SASA+T is a low-dropout (LDO) linear voltage regulator with very low quiescent current, high accuracy and excellent thermal stability. Working Principle

The MAX5023SASA+T is a linear voltage regulator with a built-in low-dropout (LDO) regulator. It uses an external resistor divider to set the desired output voltage. The device compares the output voltage with the reference and uses the error amplifier to adjust the supply current to the output node Vs. The current is varied by increasing or decreasing the base-emitter voltage of the pass transistor, which compensates for the change in the output voltage. The device is stable for all output voltage settings for a wide range of input and output voltages and currents.

The MAX5023SASA+T offers excellent power density and excellent load regulation. It operates in a very small area and offers low quiescent current operation and fast, accurate output voltage. Additionally, it has protection against short-circuit, current limit, thermal protection and shutdown mode, providing excellent protection and reliable operation.
