The supervisor - a low voltage voltage detection circuit with current-limit circuit, monitor the supply voltage level, and allow power through only when the voltage is above a certain threshold level. On the other side, the Load switch follows the supervisor\'s command,  It uses an N-channel MOSFET to control the flow of power, and uses the N-channel open drain feature to turn off the power when the voltage is above the threshold. The supervisor and the load switch work together to protect the system from overcurrent, overvoltage, and excessive loading as well as temperature protection.  In summary, the MAX821LUS+T is an integrated PMIC that provides a complete solution for protecting low voltage power supplies from the effects of overcurrent, overvoltage, excessive loading, temperature, and other external occurrences.
