Working Principle

This hole helps to dissipate more and more current, which is known as a breakdown voltage. This voltage can be higher or lower than the avalanche breakdown voltage. If the voltage is lower than the avalanche breakdown voltage, the avalanche breakdown takesplace, which is known as Zener breakdown.
