MAZS39000L diodes, otherwise known as Zener diodes, are designed to allow current to pass through in regular directions, as long as the voltage of the diode is not exceeded. However, when a certain reverse voltage is attributed, these diodes allow the current to flow in the opposite direction. This phenomenon is known as Zener breakdown, which is the fundamental principle of Zener diodes.

The MAZS39000L is a 3.9 V Zener diode, meaning the voltage the diode can withstand prior to conducting in the opposite direction is 3.9 volts. It is a 500 mW rated diode, with low capacitance and leakage current, keeping it suitable for switching applications.

The applications of the MAZS39000L are varied. It is often used in surge protectors, since it can withstand a high reverse breakdown voltage, as well as being able to dissipate a high surge current.
