This ripple voltage is caused by varying diode forward/reverse resistance and can be suppressed by reducing on-off switching time of the diodes or by adding an output filter. The MBRF12035 provides protection against over-current conditions since it only allows a single direction of current flow when its forward voltage is above level of its reverse voltage. The diode bridge also provides galvanic isolation so that sparks will not occur when connecting a line or when the power supply has stopped.
