MC100EP16VTDTR2G is a multi-mode BiCMOS point-to-point high-speed differential line driver for applications such as SONET OC-48, ATM, Fibre Channel, and digital links. This driver is designed to provide higher speed, lower power, and superior system integration benefits in multi-pair differential wide-bus switched fabric applications.

The MC100EP16VTDTR2G device is specifically designed for high-speed point-to-point line drivers in such applications as:

MC100EP16VTDTR2G is based on a BiCMOS process with a 0.35μm gate length. In addition, it features a programmable, wide range of SERDES signaling speed grades, which provide flexibility for design optimization and higher system performance. MC100EP16VTDTR2G combines proprietary techniques including terminated output buffers, voltage compensation, a single-ended output for monitoring, power control and skew correction to produce a device with superior electrical characteristics.

The MC100EP16VTDTR2G is a differential line driver with the ability to support a wide range of signaling speed grades. The device has two integrated outputs. One of the outputs is a differential pair of balanced current sources, allowing for a wide range of output impedances to be programmed by the user. The second output is a single-ended source/sink, providing the user with the capability to develop a "monitoring" signal when driving a differential signal. This output allows the user to monitor and detect faults in the system.
