The MC3403DR amplifiers are part of the commercially available amplifiers from the STMicroelectronic corporation. It was designed for use in a broad range of instrumentation and audio applications, including active filters, signal conditioning and power control systems. Based on a Class B structure, the MC3403DR achieves maximum output power of 1.5W with a very low distortion. It operates from a single supply voltage of 4.5 to 20 Volts and have gain of up to 35 dB.
Application Field
The MC3403DR is ideal for a wide range of applications, such as active filters, signal conditioning and power control systems used in consumer electronics, automotive, industrial and medical equipment. Work Principle
The MC3403DR amplifier utilises an advanced Bipolar technology for enhanced signal to noise ratio and wide dynamic range. Its superior performance is due to the integrated circuit design which combines low voltage noise, distortion and high speed operation. The IC consists of an input differential stage, an output stage and a set of power control, gain and frequency compensation circuitry. The amplifier is optimised for ac operation and can operate at frequencies up to 400KHz. Its output stage consists of two complementary N-Channel MOSFET transistors and can achieve up to 1.5 watts of output power at 20 Volts of supply voltage.
The IC contains a wide range of features, including a specially matched input transistor pair, a electronically adjustable gain and power control, and a frequency compensation network. The bias current selection and the shutdown mode are also adjustable, providing flexibility in terms of overall performance. The output stage features an adjustable power limit and an electronic overload protection circuit. These features enable the user to optimize the MC3403DR\'s performance for use in a variety of applications.
The MC3403DR has been tested and is rated for up to 30V of supply voltage. It is designed for use in ac coupled applications and is well suited for a variety of applications requiring high-performance audio amplification.
