The MCF5280CVM80 is a coldfire dual core processor developed by Freescale. It’s part of the Coldfire V2, V3 and V4 processor families that includes a wide range of highly integrated and cost effective choices for many embedded applications. The MCF5280CVM80 is built on a 32-bit RISC architecture with enhanced system management peripherals, a extensive range of module enhancements, wide operating frequency range, extensive Processor and Peripheral Interfacing, and multicore support.
The MCF5280CVM80 with 800MHz is specially designed for industrial applications. The processor is equipped with a powerful and energy efficient floating point unit, an extended Apollo CPU core, and a substantial amount of L2 cache memory. The processor is designed to provide the flexibility and performance required for various industrial applications, such as power control, automation, and medical systems. The integrated peripheral support of the MCF5280CVM80 includes multiple serial and SPI modules, an Ethernet controller, dual USB ports, a Digital signal processor core, UARTs, and an integrated MC (Modem/Communication) controller.
