Data acquisition is the process of measuring an analog quantity over time, converting it to digital form, processing it and then transmitting it to a computer for control and analysis purposes. The analog-to-digital converter (ADC) is a device that helps to convert an analog signal into a digital one, so that the data can be processed and analyzed. Among the most commonly used ADCs is the MCP3208-BI/P, a 12-bit successive-approximation ADC chip developed by Microchip Technology. It offers excellent resolution and linearity, good Supply Voltage Rejection (SVR) and excellent noise immunity, making it ideal for many sensing applications in harsh industrial or automotive environments.

The MCP3208-BI/P is a low-power, low-cost and high-performance ADC that is suitable for various applications, including industrial, consumer, healthcare and automotive.
