MCP3422 relies on voltage reference with an internal 16-bit ADC to convert the input analog signal into a digital word. The input is applied to the bridge-type load cell, which is amplified by the preamplifier. The preamplifier output is then buffered and applied to the Voltage Reference and the ADC.The Voltage Reference is used to set the full-scale range of the ADC and provides an offset of the output. The analog signal is converted and rectified on the ADC and the result is then clocked into the data register. The output of the data register is a 16-bit digital word.MCP3422 also has a temperature sensor to provide temperature compensation for the bridge voltage in order to reduce measurement errors.
