It provides multi-channel and high efficiency regulated power supply (VIN supply plate) with integrated Buck/LDO, high precision, large current micro stepping and precise board controlling circuit. Using a system-level internal structure, the MIC6315-40D3U TR integrated all functions required in Power Management and simplifies the user’s system initialization. It is optimized for the high efficiency and low standby current, which is suitable for providing pure digital and analog output and the ideal features, such as multi-channel power management, digital PMBus interface, and other advanced features, like output mute control, digital power key control, integrated 32kHz oscillator, system reset, etc. The MIC6315-40D3U TR IC includes a power management unit, a general-purpose supply controller, a power detection unit, and a switching DC-DC reverse controller. It can support up to 6 groups of buck, 1 group of DC-DC reverse, and 1 group of LDO. All of them feature an efficient control system. The buck controller includes a high-performance pulse frequency modulation (PFM) mode (for low power consumption) and a pulse width modulation (PWM) mode (for high efficiency). The MIC6315-40D3U TR also includes a power detection unit and a general-purpose supply controller. The power detection unit provides a 2-level power detection and enable 0/1 output control. It also provides under-voltage protection, over-voltage protection, over-temperature protection, over-current protection, and short-circuit protection functions. The general-purpose supply controller provides 5V or 3.3V supply and a 12V operating voltage supply.The power sequencing function of the MIC6315-40D3U TR can start and stop independent control channels in sequence according to the user-defined parameters. For example, the power of the core area is enabled after the boot of the CPU, and then the other peripheral power sources are started sequentially in a certain order. The MIC6315-40D3U TR also provides several advanced functions. It has a built-in oscillator that operates at 32KHz and a system reset.
