The LEDs radiation will trigger the phototriac, turning on the triac or SCR connected to its output. The voltage will then pass through the common anode terminal and control the load or motor connected to the output. When the LED is turned off, the voltage comparison point will also be disconnected and the triac or SCR will turn off again.
