The device utilizes a GaAℓAs infrared light emitting diode, which is optically coupled to a integrated photo detector comprising of a phototransistor and a Zero Voltage Crossing (ZVC) Triac driver.</P><P>This optocoupler is suitable for a variety of applications including, but not limited to, motor and fan control, automotive and industrial voltage control, HVAC systems, medical equipment, household appliances, access control systems, and more.</P><P>The MOC3062FM provides a high level of isolation between two circuits up to 3750 volts. This optoisolator is also designed with a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C and can operate at frequencies up to 300Hz. The device is UL Recognized per UL1577 standard and carries a creepage distance of 8.0mm. The package size is only 4-pin DIP and the device is available in a lead-free version</P><P>This optocoupler works by a process known as photocoupling.
