The MOC3062X is a high-performance optoisolator Triac, SCR output module, which is mainly used for AC power control. It provides electrical isolation between the control circuit and the load circuit. The extremely compact 4-pin DIP or 4-pin SMD package maximizes board space savings.
Working Principle
MOC3062X is a sensitive gate thyristor (SGT) output optically coupled Isolator. Its working principle is based on photoelectric effect, using light-emitting diodes and photodiodes. The LED generates infrared light, which is detected by a photodiode that triggers the SGT to turn on or off. MOC3062X can absorb and control the fluctuations of alternating current for AC power control, without being affected by changes in load current or voltage.Features
The MOC3062X optoisolator has several impressive features. It has a common-anode structure that supports bidirectional triggering. It also features 0.5 Amp Sensitive/Standard Gate Triacs with a 2.5kVrmsIsolation voltage capability. The AC load current rating is 0.5A, and the DC blocked voltage rating is 80V. The output of the device contains a highly sensitive gate thyristor, meaning it can be triggered by a very low input current. The OFF-state output leakage current for the device is below 1uA when the input voltage is 5V. In addition, the device can safely control resistive and inductive AC load currents, such as light bulbs and motor controllers.Applications
