The MPX4115A is a type of pressure sensor, also known as pressure transducer, that utilizes a physical phenomenon to convert a pressure signal into an analog electrical signal. It is also suitable for controlling back pressure of combustion engines, turbocharged engines, active suspensions, ventilation systems, and aircraft systems.The MPX4115A pressure transducer utilizes a pressure sensitive diaphragm in the form of a ceramic capacitive element which changes in response to changes in the pressure. This principle is based on the fact that the capacitance of a capacitor is inversely proportional to the change in applied pressure. The capacitance change is converted into voltage output via the on-board sensing circuitry. Thus, as the pressure changes, the output voltage will change proportionally.The MPX4115A is a single-chip solution with on-board temperature compensation as well as internal linearization to provide calibrated output of the pressure that is applied. It includes an internal temperature compensation circuit that helps to reduce the effects of temperature induced errors on the output. The MPX4115A also has an on-chip amplifier and 12-bit analog-to-digital converter to provide amplified, linearized, and digitized output from the pressure sensor.The MPX4115A has an impressive accuracy of ±2.2% full-scale, a resolution of 0.012 V/V, and a power supply tolerance of 5.4V. It also features a fast response time of 2.5 milliseconds and a wide temperature range of -30 to + 85 degrees Celsius.The MPX4115A is also an excellent choice for applications that require durable and reliable sensors. It has a RoHS-compliant hermetically sealed package for long-term stability and reliability, and is protection-classed as IP67.This device also provides protection against static discharge and over-voltage conditions.
