Working principle of the NCP303LSN27T1G
The NCP303LSN27T1G is composed of two comparator circuits, with one being the reset circuit and the other being the supply voltage comparator. The first comparator is designed to monitor the reset voltage threshold (V RST ) and the second comparator monitors the other power supplies. The device has two active comparator circuits which are configured to generate an open-drain active-low reset signal, RESET, and a logic output, POR. When the input voltage drops below the defined V RST voltage, the reset signal is generated and is held for about 200ms so that microprocessor setups can properly read the signal. The POR signal is active when an input voltage is above the defined POR voltage.
The device also provides three hysteresis levels to prevent false triggering of the reset signal due to power supply noise or ringing. The hysteresis levels are configurable and provide 3V, 4.3V and 4.5V of hysteresis which can be adjusted depending on the application. The device also features an additional disable circuit that can be used to completely disable the device when required. This is done by asserting the RESET and POR pins to low levels.
