PMIC - LED DriversWorking Principle
The NCP5604BMTR2G uses a unique current-mode control method, which enables the LED current to be regulated by pulse-width modulation (PWM). This method allows flexible control of LED current over a wide range of voltage and temperature.The LED driver controls LED current by sensing the current flowing through a sensing resistor. The sensed current is then compared to the reference current and an error signal is generated. This error signal is used to modulate the output voltage in order to regulate the LED current.The output current can be set by adjusting the feedback resistor, which sets the reference current level. The output current can also be modulated by an external PWM signal, which enables the LED current to be modulated for dimming and color control applications.The NCP5604BMTR2G also features comprehensive protection functions such as over-current, thermal shutdown and LED short protection, making it a robust and reliable LED driver solution.Application Field
