The NCP5612GEVB is an Evaluation Board designed as a Solution that widely applicable to LED Drivers. Specifically, it is designed as an LED Driver solution featuring the FAN5612SM of MOSFETs and the NCP5612 HV LED Driver.
The NCP5612GEVB Evaluation Board has the comprehensive features to make it a comprehensive LED Driver solution. It is primarily designed for common use in automotive and industrial applications including luminaire and lighting applications. The NCP5612GEVB evaluation board includes the market’s most modern, flexible and easy-to-use LED driver ICs and components, and also offers numerous advanced features and capabilities that make it suitable for both commercial and automotive applications.
The FAN5612SM is a Low Voltage MOSFET with very low losses and low on-resistance allowing for optimal conversion efficiency. In addition, the FAN 5612SM features a current sense amplifier that provides monitoring of current flow, enabling the NCP 5612GEVB to programme a minimum current level in order to prevent excessive heat build up in the LED array. The NCP5612GEVB utilizes this minimum current feature, which optimizes system efficiency, to ensure a longer lifespan for the LED array.
The NCP5612 is a high-density LED driver IC with fast modulation bandwidth and outputs up to 200mA from a 1.2 V to 10 V power supply. The device’s integrated voltage level-shifters operate over the common 1.2V to 10V range. This flexibility makes the NCP5612 particularly well-suited to mobile applications that require a wide range of power supplies. Furthermore, the NCP5612 features an integrated gate drive unit, eliminating external components and saving space. This, combined with its small 3mm x 4.3mm package and wide operating temperature, makes the device an ideal choice for space-constrained portable applications.
The NCP5612 features many advanced features and capabilities including: adaptive frequency modulation, adaptive LED boost capability and color LED control, dynamic LED current dimming, temperature compensation and dynamic LED current control. These features make the NCP5612 a powerful and versatile LED driver solution for both automotive and industrial applications. Furthermore, the NCP5612 is designed to be compliant with the JESD214 standard for semiconductor devices, providing additional robustness and compatibility for many applications in which AC line frequency changes.
The NCP5612GEVB Evaluation Board is a comprehensive solution for LED supply and conditioning. Together, the NCP5612 high-density LED driver and the FAN5612SM MOSFET make an efficient and reliable LED driving solution.
