The NCP81051MNTBG is part of an innovative family of Power Management Integrated Circuits (PMICs) and Gate Drivers from ON Semiconductor. This family of devices offers superior protection and switching features, providing system designers with greater flexibility to develop power management solutions. The NCP81051MNTBG is a fully programmable gate driver designed to control a wide variety of power supply and power conversion systems. It features cascaded dual-channel outputs that can be used to control a variety of power supply devices, including 100V MOSFETs, IGBTs, IPMs, buck solenoids, and synchronous rectifiers.
The NCP81051MNTBG is an example of a dedicated, advanced, programmable system solution. It has two channels of dedicated outputs for driving MOSFETs and IGBTs and four integrated Wide Bandgap IGBT drive channels for flexibility in controlling various power switching devices. The four integrated IGBT drive channels are programmable. Each channel can be configured to drive with fixed or programmable timing delays, shutdown delay, fault detect Inhibit and Slow Enable Function.
The NCP81051MNTBG has two modes of operation. First is the single-terminal control mode, which enables a single trigger input for the four independent gate drive circuits. Second is the two-terminal control mode, which uses an independent trigger signal for each output. Both single- and two-terminal control modes can be used with the NCP81051MNTBG. The voltage enable can be supplied through the enable pin, or an internal voltage enable signal. This signal is used to enable or disable the four independent gate drives circuits.
NCP81051MNTBG features a wide supply voltage range, from 5V to 42V. The maximum operating temperature range is specified up to 175°C. In addition, it has low quiescent current consumption, low output current leakage and fast on-times for efficient operation. It supports leading edge blanking (LEB) to reduce output capacitive current, voltage feed-forward (VFF) offset, and programmable gate drive current.
The NCP81051MNTBG is ideal for applications such as DC-DC converters including V2H, V2X and EV power converters. It is also useful for controlling and protection of battery charger systems, off-line switcher, white goods, multi-string solar inverters and HVAC systems.
