A gate driver is a power amplifier that accepts a low-power input from a controller IC and produces a high-power signal to drive a power MOSFET or IGBT. The NC8P1161MNTBG is a highly integrated fully protected gate driver solution for driving power MOSFETs or IGBTs. It is an ideal choice for protection of the power Mosfet from short-circuit in the device, short-circuit between the high side and low side, overvoltage, overcurrent, over-temperature and under voltage. The IC is optimized for automotive applications and supports 4.0A to 8.0A peak peak current of high side drain, providing a cost effective and reliable gate drive solution.

The NC8P1161MNTBG gate driver has a range of features that make it well suited to many applications. It features an integrated gate driver, an embedded temperature sensor and a selectable fault response. It also supports both IGBT and MOSFET drivers and can drive up to 4 power devices per channel. It has an adjustable driving voltage for on and off time tuning, allowing for optimized performance of the fully protected channel, and adjustability of the channel current pull up and pull down capability.
