This MOSFET switch also helps eliminate the need for an external freewheeling diode, saving space and cost.
Working Principle
The NCV890100PDR2G power regulator device is based on a high frequency synchronous buck topology, providing solutions for a wide range of supply conditions and high efficiency power solutions. The maximum efficiency of up to 92% allows the device to fully utilize the available power with minimal energy loss.
This device consists of an internal high efficiency synchronous buck topology, which works on the principle of increasing or decreasing voltage by adjusting the amount of time that the switch is on or off. This process is adjusted through the use of an external resistor and alternating between the high side and low side transistors to create a forward then reverse current flow.
