NE555PSRE4 is an advanced low power, programmable single-chip CMOS timer that incorporates many different features and can be used in various applications. NE555PSRE4 contains two transistors, two resistors, two adjustable resistors, and a capacitor (optional). It can be used for many purposes, such as precision timing, frequency synthesis, signal conversion, signal conditioning, modulation, and pulse-width modulation (PWM).
The NE555PSRE4 application field includes: control of task accuracy; control of duration; signal conversion; signal conditioning; signal modulation; pulse-width modulation; single-shot timing; multiple timing; pulse stretching; frequency synthesis; motor control; and many other applications.
The NE555PSRE4 works by comparing the input signal with the voltage applied to pin 7 (control voltage). This creates a difference voltage that is used to control the timing of the timer. When the voltage applied to pin 7 is greater than the input voltage, the timer will remain off, and vice-versa. When the voltage on pin 7 is less than the input, the timer turns on, and this creates a pulse. By changing the voltage on the pin 7, it is possible to adjust the speed of the timer and hence the time period of the output pulse. The time period of the pulse can be adjusted between 0.3 milliseconds and 5 hours.
