The OPI120TXV is a common Optoisolator device specifically designed for digital output applications.

The OPI120TXV device consists of two main parts: an LED and a phototransistor. The LED is infrared, which means it produces invisible light when it is electrically activated. When the LED is on, it emits light which then falls on the collector of the phototransistor. This causes the transistors collector voltage to change, producing a digital output signal.
