Thyristor (Thyristor, abbreviated as SCR or TRIAC when used with a diac) is a type of power switching device, which is a bistable switching component with four electrodes, mainly used in AC control circuits, such as motors and light dimmers, and can be used to control the speed of a motor or the intensity of light.
