Working Principle

The working principle of P1804UCLTP is based on the concept of a thyristor. In a thyristor, when a certain voltage is applied across the device, a current flow begins to move in one direction. This results in a positive voltage level across the anode and a negative voltage level across the cathode. If the applied voltage then increases to a certain level known as the latching voltage, the thyristor remains in its conductive state, allowing a continuous current flow. A slight decrease of applied voltage then causes the thyristor to turn off, blocking the current.

The P1804UCLTP features a wide range of breakdown voltage ratings, making it suitable for a variety of applications. Its low on-state and junction temperature characteristics also greatly improve its efficiency and power capacity, allowing it to handle higher loads. Additionally, it is built with a reverse polarity protection diode, ensuring that the device is correctly connected and will not be damaged even if the polarity is reversed accidentally.
