PCM1702U-JE6 is a special purpose analog to digital converter (ADC) developed by Burr-Brown Corporation. It is suitable for applications in advanced audio and professional audio/video broadcast equipment. The device is based on a 24-bit ΔΣ modulator with a oversampling rate of 192kHz and a dynamic range of up to 124dB. This makes it an ideal choice for applications requiring high resolution and low distortion signal conversion.The PCM1702U-JE6 comes in the form of a 48-pin plastic leaded chip carrier (PLCC) which is designed for applications with mixed analog and digital signals. The analogue inputs are connected via a ADC input buffer which is designed to provide high impedance and ensure exceptional EMI and RF noise immunity. The input signal is then processed by a lowpass filter with selectable corner frequency and slope. Following this, the signal is digitized with a 24-bit ΔΣ modulator with an oversampling rate of 192 kHz. The PCM1702U-JE6 also includes a clock frequency synthesizer which eliminates the need for an external clock source.The device features two output streams; one composed of a 16-bit data stream for high quality audio applications and the other of a 24-bit data stream for extended resolution applications such as professional audio/video broadcast or recording. The outputs are buffered by a lowpass filter with selectable corner frequency and slope which helps reduce aliasing and distortion. The PCM1702U-JE6 includes a power save mode which allows it to go into a low power state when idle and maintain data synchronization upon awakening.The PCM1702U-JE6 is a versatile mixed signal conversion device which is suitable for advanced audio and professional audio/video broadcast applications.
