Thyristors - TRIACsA TRIAC, or Triode for Alternating Current, is a solid-state semiconductor device specifically designed for the switching and control of alternating current. It belongs to a family of semiconductor components known as Thyristors, which are made up of three or four layers of alternating P and N type material, forming two back-to-back thyristor cells.
