Single-Signal Gate (S1G) solid state rectifier is a three terminal device with a single, connected gate. It is designed to provide a convenient method of controlling conduction in a load such as a diode or resistor. The S1G operates by a fast, reliable switched gate current drive. When a negative gate input is applied, the S1G quickly responds to drive a full current through the device and hence activate the downstream load.

The S1G can be configured for single or dual operation. In a single operation the device is operated in parallel with a single load, such as a diode or resistor. In a dual operation the device can be used in conjunction with two different loads, such as two resistors or diodes.
