The SA40HE3/73 are transient voltage suppressors (TVS) diodes used to limit the amount of voltage or current across an electrical device and protect it from damage caused by transients. Breakdown current is typically 20 A peak and the surge peak current is 5 A. This device has a low parasitic capacitance of 0.1 pF and a low parasitic inductance of 0.5 ηH. The working principle of TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) diodes, such as SA40HE3/73, is basic. When the input voltage exceeds a certain threshold, the diode breaks down and it starts conducting current.
