Working Principle:
The working principle of SA51A A0G TVS diode is based on a process known as “avalanche breakdown”. When a high voltage transient or a surge occurs, the TVS diode is triggered into a breakdown or “avalanche” stage. During this stage, the diode provides a low-impedance path to ground. This prevents transients from damaging, or even destroying, valuable electronic components. The TVS diode requires a certain threshold level before it will activate. This is known as the “breakdown voltage” and is one of the most important characteristics of the device.The SA51A A0G TVS device is designed to protect against transients of up to 8 kV (8/20 μs waveform). This ensures that valuable components are protected from surge events such as induced lightning.
