The SA56004DD,112 uses a thermoelectric (TE) or thermistor (thermally sensitive resistor) sensing element. This sensor is a component of a thermoelectric generator (TEG), also known as a Seebeck--effect device. A TEG is composed of two dissimilar metals (typically copper-magnesium alloys, commonly known as thermocouples) that are connected in series and in contact with the environment whose temperature is to be measured. When the junction of the two metals is exposed to varying temperature, a continuous potential difference (voltage) is produced between the two metals. This voltage can be measured using the SA56004DD,112 TE-sensor.The thermistor sensing element works in a similar manner, with the difference being that it is composed of two different types of resistance materials. As the temperature of the surrounding environment changes, the resistances of the two materials change. This change in resistance can be measured using the SA56004DD,112 thermistor-sensor.Conclusion
