TVS-Diodes are a type of semiconductor device commonly used to protect electrical circuits from electrical overstress due to transients. Transients are short duration voltage spikes that may be caused by electrical storms, power surges, lightning, electromagnetic interference and other power related events. The SA64A A0G is an unidirectional device which has a reverse stand-off voltage of 18V and a maximum peak pulse power dissipation of 1400W. The device has a maximum peak pulse surge current of 6A as per IEC61000-4-5 (8/20µs) and it is built using a NPN structure. It has an extremely low clamping voltage and an excellent response time of less than 10ns. It is also suitable for high temperature applications up to 150°C.
