SJM184BXA is an analog switch from NXP Semiconductors, packaged in a standard 8-pin small outline package (SOP). It is designed for use as an analog multiplexer/demultiplexer. It offers two user-selectable channels and a low-power consumption of 2.8 mA. The switch operates with a supply voltage range of 2.7-3.3 V.

The SJM184BXA is a 14-channel, single-pole /single-throw analog switch. It can be used as a multiplexer, demultiplexer, or digital-to-analog Converter (DAC). It features low On-resistance and toggle control, low Off-resistance, and low power consumption. It is available in MSOP-8 and QFN-16 packages. It supports a standard logic range of 2.7-3.3V.

Working Principle

SJM184BXA analog switch is based on a single-pole/single-throw (SPST) architecture. It features two user-selectable analog 24-channel multiplexers/demultiplexers that are enabled/disabled by two rows of logic signals. The analog multiplexer/demultiplexer support two bidirectional channels. When the multiplexer/multiplexers is disabled, the switching device is OFF and there is no signal propagation between the channels. The output channel is selected by applying a logic signal to the appropriate input pins. When the selected logic signal is high, the output channel is enabled and signal from the input channel is propagated to the output. When the selected logic signal is low, the output channel is disabled, and signal from the input channel is blocked from being propagated to the output.

SJM184BXA also has a low-power consumption of 2.8 mA and a low-voltage operation of 2.7-3.3 V. Its low-power and low voltage operation makes it suitable for battery operated systems. Its low on-resistance and toggle control ensure an accurate signal transmission. It also has low off-resistance to ensure the signal is efficiently cut off when the switch is OFF. Lastly, the switch has a temperature rating of -40 to +85 C.
