Aluminum Electrolytic CapacitorsAluminum electrolytic capacitors are electrical components which use a solid and a liquid electrolyte to create capacitance. These capacitors are used in a variety of applications, and can be found in televisions, computers, motor controllers, and many other electronics. The SLP331M420E4P3 is an aluminum electrolytic capacitor typically used in low voltage, low power applications, such as motor controllers or voltage regulators. This capacitor is rated for a working voltage of 16VDC, and has a maximum capacitance of 4200µF. These capacitors work in a similar way to any other capacitor, by storing energy in the form of an electric field. When a voltage is applied to the capacitor, the electric field holds the electrons in place creating a charge. This charge then acts as a reservoir of energy, that is slowly depleted over time.
