The working principle of the SLP820M420A1P3 aluminum electrolytic capacitor is based on the property of an electrolyte, which has ions that can migrate freely in the liquid. When a voltage is applied between the two electrodes of an aluminum electrolytic capacitor, cations (positive ions) will migrate to the anode (positive electrode) and anions (negative ions) will migrate to the cathode (negative electrode). The cations are then adsorbed on the anode while the anions are adsorbed on the cathode, creating a fixed electric field between the electrodes. This electric field creates an electric charge stored in the capacitor.
