The SP6134EB evaluation system enables users to evaluate the performance of the integrated circuit of a DC/DC and AC/DC offline SMPS. It is an off-line switch-mode power supply (SMPS) test system for use in OEM laboratories, and power electronics laboratories. The system consists of an evaluation board, a power supply, a power meter, optional current meters, a LED load board, and a PIC microcontroller development board.
The evaluation board contains a SP6134EB IC, which is a high density, high efficiency, and low-cost AC/DC Offline SMPS PCBA. The SP6134EB IC combines all the power-management functions into one device. The device includes an output voltage control loop, a soft start/soft stop function, an over voltage protection circuit, an over load protection circuit, a short- circuit protection circuit, an over temperature protection circuit, and an on/off control circuit. The evaluation board contains the necessary components for the SMPS control such as resistors, capacitors, and diodes. The evaluation board also provides the necessary interfacing for the user\'s PC or PIC microcontroller development board.
The SP6134EB IC is used in off-line applications such as lighting systems, electric drives, appliances, battery chargers, welding power supplies, vacuum cleaners, computer power supplies, etc. It is ideal for those applications that require high-density, high-efficiency, and low-cost SMPSs. The IC supports an operating frequency up to 20kHz. The integrated input voltage range is from 150 to 400V, making it suitable for a wide range of input sources.
