ACN-L/TR is a DC/DC controller with adjustable and synchronizable operating frequency from ECN/20kHz to 1MHz, it is one of a new generation of non-isolated Buck controller. It not only provides a simple and cost-effective solution, but also intelligent power management and precise power regulation. The ACN-L/TR is a 3-phase, synchronous buck DC/DC controller optimized for low output ripple, wide input voltage range and high power factor, which is suitable for distributed power architectures.

The application field of ACN-L/TR ranges from mobile and multimedia power supply, telecom power supply, medical healthcare, and automotive power supply system. The synchronizable currents efficiency reaches up to 95% and its very low stand-by current down to 2μA, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. The module is small and light, easy to integrate into space constrained systems. It also provides excellent transient performance, superior line of regulation and strong loop compensation through an adjustable reference voltage and programmable voltage feedback.

The working principle of ACN-L/TR is relatively simple. When a voltage is applied on the input of the device, it produces a cascaded system of six identical switches, with the four switches controlling the three phases and two further switches taking care of the synchronous rectifying. The current and voltage are regulated using the pulse-width modulation (PWM) technique and the output when the input voltage changes remains stable.
