The STEVAL-ISA045V1 evaluation board is designed for evaluating STMicroelectronics’ VIPer22A off-line switch mode power supply (SMPS) controller. The board is powered by an external 230V AC mains line and can provide up to 40W of power to a 12V output with up to 3.3A current. It features built-in active PFC, low consumption standby mode, active burst mode operation with high efficiency, inrush current reduction, internal slope compensation, overvoltage and short circuit protection, and auto-restart mode.

The STEVAL-ISA045V1 is available in two versions, the first one with fixed frequency operation up to 150kHz and the second one with selectable frequency, either through a jumper or an external digital potentiometer. Both versions feature the same output voltage settings, either 12V or 15V, enabling engineers to create different designs with the same hardware configuration.
