Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are passive components used for the circuit storage and coupling, decoupling, filtering and energy conversion of various electronic circuits. An aluminum electrolytic capacitor is an electrolytic non-polar capacitor formed by immersing strips of aluminum foil or rolling sheets with oxide film in a strong electrolyte solution containing oxidizing or reducing substances, which capacitors are mainly composed of electrolytes, cathode aluminum foil, leads and o-rings.SXR103M6R3ST, as an aluminum electrolytic capacitor, has wide application in various fields. It can be widely applied to filter power in switch power supply. It is applicable to the main circuit of switching power supply, such as a stabilizer, a power inverter, a frequency converter, and many other power supplies. It is also recommended in small high frequency switching power supply, such as electric corner p in electric tools, multi-output power supplies of notebooks, 35W, 60W and 90W output power supplies used in thin client devices, etc. The main characteristics of SXR103M6R3ST are as followings:1. Operating temperature range: -40°C~ +105°C.2. Rated voltage: 25V~400V.3. Capacitance range: 3.3uF~10000uF.4. Low impedance and low loss.5. High ripple current capability and low ESR.6. High insulation resistance and high reliability.7. Can be operated in any positions.As for the working principle of SXR103M6R3ST, it is basically similar to other aluminum electrolytic capacitors. The two electrolytic foils with a small amount of paper insulation material between them form a dielectric. A liquid or gel-like electrolyte is injected to generate a large number of negative charges due to the electrolytic principle. With the accumulation of negative charges on aluminum foil, a negative voltage is generated between two foils, and an electric field is generated in the dielectric between the two foils. This electric field has the effect of discharging the electric current. Therefore, SXR103M6R3ST also called an electric filter and electric storage device.In the design process, SXR103M6R3ST has stringent requirements on the temperature coefficient of capacitance. In order to ensure the accuracy of the design, aluminum electrolytic capacitors should be equipped with high temperature coefficients, which can be divided into the following three temperature coefficients: B, C and D. SXR103M6R3ST is most often used when rated voltage is less than 10V. Type C temperature coefficient is generally used for rated voltage over 100V, while type B temperature coefficient can be used for rated voltage between 10V and 100V.In addition, SXR103M6R3ST also needs to match with other circuit components in design, such as inductor, resistor, etc. Generally, the DC-link capacitor should be deduced according to the current, power, temperature and other factors. The size of the switch power supply inductor should be selected according to the temperature rise caused by the current loss and the heat dissipation coefficient.
