Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are polarized electrolytic capacitors which use a cylindrical aluminum anode covered in an oxide layer. This layer serves as the absent dielectric layer between the anode and cathode. Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are used in a wide variety of applications from low voltage DC circuits, to AC electronic applications like TV\'s, radios and computers.
