SY89533LHZ is a monolithic two-input clock generator and phase-locked loop (PLL) with integrated low-noise voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO). It has been designed to meet the requirements of demanding clock frequency synthesis applications. 1. Application Fields
SY89533LHZ can be used in a variety of applications including high-speed clocking, clock tree synthesis, system timing, processor, memory and peripheral clock synthesis, and processor-based DSP designs. It is also compatible with many industry-standard bus protocols for reliable frequency synthesis in a wide range of applications. The device provides an integrated low-noise voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) with a wide tuning range from 1 to 125 MHz, enabling a wide range of clock speeds to be generated.
In addition to its frequency synthesis capabilities, the device is suitable for clock generation applications such as timing synthesis, Ethernet clocking, and high-performance low-power clocking. 2. Working Principle
The SY89533LHZ can be used to generate clock frequencies from 1 to 125 MHz with an output jitter of 350 femtoseconds (fs). It is a monolithic clock generator and PLL which incorporates several features to provide the necessary performance for a wide range of clock frequency synthesis applications. It has an integrated low-noise voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) which typically provides up to +/-20% frequency tuning accuracy. The device utilizes a phased-locked loop (PLL) architecture to synthesize the desired output frequency. This allows the PLL to accurately reproduce the desired output frequency even over wide temperature variations.
The SY89533LHZ uses an analog loop filter which provides an adequate noise rejection characteristic to maintain ultra-low jitter performance. This, coupled with the integrated digital-to-analog (D/A) converter and digital-controlled oscillator (DCO), ensures the device is able to accurately generate clock frequencies.
