The SY89537LMY clock and timing generator from Microchip Technology is a programmable clock synthesizer and jitter cleaner with five independent output clocks. Each of these output clocks can be independently adjusted from 6 to 100 MHz, including frequencies between 91 and 135 MHz which can be used for SONET/SDH and SAS applications. Additionally, the SY89537LMY offers integrated linear regulators to provide clean voltage when powering the device and to reduce external components and board space.

Overview

The SY89537LMY synthesizer is a single chip, low-power CMOS clock generator designed to produce a maximum of five low jitter clocks in the 6-125 MHz frequency range. Each of the output clocks can be independently programmed by the user and the output of each programmable clock is DC-coupled. Output frequencies are selected with a single-wire input bus, which allows the user to express a 16-bit binary value that produces a final programmable frequency.
