The TCV214 is a general purpose serializer/deserializer (SerDes) suitable for a variety of communications applications, including data communications, multimedia applications, and industrial systems. The TCV214 is designed to meet the industry’s increasing requirements for high performance, low power, small form factor board and chip level solutions. The TCV214 also offers an optional error checking and correction function, as well as a differential/single ended connection to previous generation SerDes.

The TCV214 is a programmable, high speed, low power core that enables high performance data conversion between the serial and parallel data domains. It is designed to help reduce board and system power requirements, by providing an efficient, low power solution for the high speed serial data throughput required for high bandwidth communications. The TCV214 serializes the data into the four serial lanes, and deserializes it in order to recover the original parallel data. The data conversion between serial and parallel can be done with error-free operation using the optional error-check-and-correction (ECC) algorithm.
