TL497AIDR is a DC-DC buck switching regulator, belonging to the Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) Voltage Regulators group. The PMIC Voltage Regulators group consists of several types of integrated circuit power controllers for use in battery-powered communication and consumer electronics applications.TL497AIDR is mainly used for power supply of mobile devices, such as PDAs, digital cameras, audio players, video game consoles, mobile phones and tablets. It is also used for on-board power management in various industrial and automotive applications.The TL497AIDR is a synchronous buck switching regulator which provides an output current of up to 1.2A. It has an operating input voltage range of 4.0-40V and a fixed output voltage of 7.35V. It is packaged in a space saving 28-pin QFN (Quad Flat No-Lead) package, with an extremely small size of 7x7mm.The TL497AIDR uses a two-phase interleaved current mode (TAIL) sampler topology to maintain high efficiency at the switching frequency. The synchronous buck converter is controlled by a single PWM controller, the TL497A, which is a regulating switching regulator integrated circuit.The TL497A controls the output voltage by pulse width modulating the equivalent current in the buck converter output. The PWM controller consists of an error amplifier, current limit, UVLO (under voltage lockout) features and an internal clock generator. The TL497A has a built-in thermal shutdown protection.The high control accuracy of the TL497A enables fast current sourcing at a high efficiency of 95%. The TL497A also provides high voltage gain, which helps to minimize the number of external components.The TL497AIDR is designed with high reliability and is easily integrated into battery-powered devices, making it a perfect choice for cost-sensitive power supply applications.
