Description
The TLP250H is a DIP8 packaged optocoupler consisting of a GaAℓAs infrared light emitting diode (LED) optically coupled to an integrated high-gain, high-speed photodetector IC chip. It guarantees performance and specifications up to 125°C. The TLP250H has a built-in Faraday shield and guarantees ±40 kV/µs common-mode transient immunity. It features a totem-pole output that can sink and source current simultaneously. The TLP250H is ideal for IGBT and power MOSFET gate drive.

Key points of design
1. Input side:
- Current limiting resistor calculation: Rlim=(Vcc-1.5V)/IF (Recommended IF=10mA)
- It is recommended to connect a reverse protection diode in parallel at both ends of the LED
2. Output side:
- A 0.1μF+10μF decoupling capacitor should be placed near the Vcc pin
- Recommended gate resistance value: 10-100Ω (adjusted according to the switching speed)
3. Isolation design:
- Maintain ≥8mm creepage distance between primary and secondary
- Avoid sharp angle design for high-voltage wiring

Precautions
1. Electrostatic protection:
- All pins are only resistant to ESD of 2kV (anti-static operation required)
2. Welding conditions:
- Wave soldering: 260°C ≤10 seconds
- Manual soldering: soldering iron temperature ≤350°C
3. Troubleshooting:
- When there is no output, first check the Vcc voltage (needs ≥15V)
- When the output is abnormal, measure the voltage drop at the LED end (normal 1.1-1.5V)
