The TLV5604CDR is a high-performance 16-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) for high-resolution data acquisition applications. It offers excellent dynamic response and high linearity, and is designed to provide high-speed, low-power operation in an ultra-small 4mm x 4mm package. As such, the TLV5604CDR is ideal for applications where power consumption and size are critical, such as medical systems, industrial control systems and automotive systems.
The TLV5604CDR provides four channels of 16-bit output resolution at switching speeds up to 5.25 Msps. It automatically calibrates the output of each channel to maintain precise 0.008% differential non-linearity (DNL). The output range is adjustable from 0.45 V to 3.3 V, and can achieve full-scale output slew rates of up to 0.5 microseconds. The TLV5604CDR integrates an innovative three-line loop architecture which uses an internal mid-scale calibration to ensure that all channels reach the same level of performance at all times.
The device operates from a single-ended 2.7- to 5.5- V analog supply voltage. With a typical power consumption of 0.2 mW/channel, it is suitable for battery-powered applications. It is also protected against power supply transients and has ESD protection up to 6 KV for both analog and digital pins. It is available in a Pb-free, 4-mm x 4-mm lead-free, RoHS-compliant, QFN-20 package.
The TLV5604CDR features a serial interface that allows data and clock to be sent rapidly at up to 24 Mbits/sec. It accepts data formats including 16-bit binary, offset binary and two\'s complement. It supports several serial port commands and read-back capabilities, enabling easy configuration and control. It also supports an external voltage reference input and has an integrated temperature sensor and an external temperature range output.
The device offers multiple operating modes, including internal voltage references and temperature calibration, temperature drift compensation, on-chip trimming, and external zero and full-scale gain adjustments. On-chip test mode allows for accurate linearity testing, thermal closure and I2C communication break-in capability. This ensures accuracy and repeatability from one device to the next.
